Sooooo, what's new? Nothing? That's good.
With me it's been the final few weeks of school, which tends to be chaotic and thus you may have noticed a prolonged absence of my bloggingness. But fear not, civilian, for I have returned with tales of joy....and wonder.....and....joyness.
I am currently in the midst of exams, with one down and 3 to go, having already completed my CLimatology exam on the 1st of this the month of December. This means I have History of Metis, Arctic Environments and Beginning Sociology in Education remaining....fun times to be had for all.
SO yes....History of Metis. My prof is a good guy and evidently expects alot out of me, especially when I am one of the main contrubutors to classroom discussion, which in itself is worth 10% of my grade. So when I get this essay back and find a shiny 15% as the grade....I am perplexed. So we talk. He says to me its one of the best written essays he recieved that year.....but the citations and bibliographt were pure shit, and not of a third year university student level. I agreed. So he gave me a few days to make some adaptations to the paper, which in turn added over a page in length while plugging in a bunch of footnotes, cited in the proper Chicago manual of Style: Arts manner as opposed the the Science method, and resubmitted it. bada big bada boom i get a 75% and a B+.....not bad seeing as I had failed it miserably days earlier. And as this paper was worth 30% of my final mark.....that one would have hurt badly.
But enough about me, lets talk about me!
As Team Gigantic had been relegated down to C Division at the end of the Pre-Season I was looking forward to a more level playing field once more
Our first game of the season came against the Brew Crew, with myself in net, as our goalie Shaunovision Ryman had told me about a week ahead of time he'd be missing the game. It started off fairly well for us, as all lines were firing....or the 9 ppl we had there. It was very offensive minded gameplan for the first half, and we didn't have anybody playhing that was not occasionally a forward. We held them to 4-2 by the halftime break, with many nice passes which resulted in a few goals. I felt they moved the ball very well, though some of the passes would not have worked in B Division. A rare brain lapse by Jay lead to a breakway that ended up behind me, as well as a cross that got deflected immediately in front of me that I would have been able to preent had I known the person was there, but they made a late run and got goalisde on their defender ad I stood there flatfooted.
The second half began and I could see right away the halftime break had not helped our fatigue level too much. People that were normally able to make a run down the sidelines or up the middle lacked the enrgy to do so, and there were some bad decisions being made, which resulted in a few goals, none of them particularly sloppy. I got the bottom of my foot on one that was en route to the net....unfortunately it didn't help the matter and continued on in there.
Another I skied up and behind me and before I could get a bearing on it and get under it it landed on the foot of the opposition to be tapped in. But that was all they would get
I didn't play badly....no goals i thought i should have saved, so it's all good. Looking forward to returning to the attacking position....get some goals again.
That's all
peace
